The Kuwaiti government has placed an order for the purchase of 300 Hellfire-II missiles, associated equipment and technical support for $49 million, says the U.S. Defense Security Agency.
These missiles will serve “to deter potential attacks against strategic targets across Kuwait, including infrastructure and resources vital to the security of the U.S.”, says the Defense Agency. This arms sale will also enhance the military capability of the oil-rich Gulf country looking forward to modernize and upgrade its armed forces.
Kuwait also intends to buy 43-US made joint helmet mounted cueing system cockpit units. The $51 million deal includes single seat electronic units, helmet display units, spare parts, support equipment, personnel training and logistics support.
