The European Commission has included Qatar among countries whose citizens are exempt from the Schengen visa, Peninsula Qatar reports.
The move came Wednesday. The commission also confirmed its submission of this proposal to the European Parliament and Council for approval.
Ambassador of Qatar to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Malki also received the legal document of the European Commission’s proposal regarding the exemption of citizens of the State of Qatar from the Schengen visa.
He received the document from the Vice President of the European Commission for Promoting the European Way of Life, HE Margaritis Schinas.
