Uganda’s national carrier, Uganda Airlines, will make its maiden flight to Dubai in UAE in the first week of September, the CEO of the airline Jenifer Bamuturaki reportedly said.
“We have now moved it (maiden flight) to the first week of September 2021,” Bamuturaki said at a press conference. The flight will be the first of airline out of the continent. Uganda Airlines since 2019, has been operating flights to Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, South Africa, South Sudan, and Tanzania.
Launched in 1977 during dictator Idi Amin Dada’s regime, the Uganda Airlines collapsed in 2001 but was revamped in 2018 with six new jets.
