The Qatari Ministry of the Interior launched on November 11 an e-portal to issue visas for those wishing to visit the country.
This platform, according to the Ministry, allows citizens from around the world to visit Qatar and attend the various events it hosts throughout the year.
Speaking at a press conference, Director of Visa Support Services Dept at the Ministry of the Interior Major Abdullah Khalifa Al Mohannadi said that Qatar Visa e-portal, through Hukoomi, will be comprehensive for all visas with a focus on events that are held in the country, whether sports, cultural or tourism-related festivals.
Al Mohannadi said that the applicant can submit for visa from 90 days to 4 days before travel and the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Qatar. This service cannot be used to obtain a visa for children registered with their parents’ passports, he added.
Al Mohannadi added that the portal is part of efforts to develop e-services and contribute to the promotion of the economic growth witnessed by the State to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030.
He pointed out that the entry and exit of visitors in Qatar is growing rapidly thanks to the many diverse programs that the country has embraced, including enabling citizens of more than 80 countries to obtain immediate visas upon entering Hamad International Airport, which made Qatar among the most open countries in the world.
The next Qatar Visa Center will be opened in Tunisia, Al Mohannadi said.
