The Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank and Gaza strip will receive $55 million assistance from the World Bank during the next two years.
The money will support private sector led-growth and help public institutions to efficiently manage finances and continue to provide basic services to Palestinians enduring hard living conditions under Israeli occupation.
The WB financial assistance for Palestine is part of a development strategy which aims at enhancing financial independence & local government empowerment, reducing poverty and boosting sustainable development.
The WB strategy gives priority to higher education, energy, land administration, water & solid waste management and supports jobs creation for Palestinian graduates.
