An “Arab regional center for world heritage” has been set up in Bahrain’s capital city of Manama to help promote and preserve cultural heritage of the Arab world.
The center, which was created in close coordination with the UNESCO within the framework of the World Heritage Convention, will host various activities and events dedicated to Arab culture, history, arts and contributions to world civilizations.
The center’s governing board held its first meeting to set an action plan for future activities including the launching of a web site, regional workshops & meetings on Arab heritage.
This newly created body will also support the translation into Arabic of major publications about world heritage and will encourage cooperation & dialogue between Arab experts.
