Saudi Crown Prince announces $5 Bln investment in Egypt

Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman expressed his intent to visit Egypt soon and meet with President El-Sisi, while announcing a $5 billion investment by the Saudi Public Investment Fund in Egypt. This marks the first phase of a broader initiative between the two nations.
During a meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in Riyadh on Monday, September 16, the Crown Prince highlighted Saudi Arabia’s strides under Vision 2030 and praised the contributions of Egyptian workers to the Kingdom’s development. The discussions, attended by key officials from both countries, covered a range of mutual interests.

Bin Salman also expressed optimism about the upcoming inaugural meeting of the Coordination Council between the two nations in October and stressed the importance of resolving trade disputes to encourage further Saudi investment. He reiterated the significance of the electrical connection project and conveyed Saudi Arabia’s readiness to support new and renewable energy projects in Egypt.

The Crown Prince also applauded the ongoing cooperation to address regional crises, including in Gaza and Yemen, and backed Egypt’s efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. He emphasized the pivotal roles of both Egypt and Saudi Arabia in promoting Arab unity and addressing regional issues.
