Qatar to inject $5 billion into Egypt’s economy as countries boost renewed ties

Qatar will invest $5 billion into the Egyptian economy in unspecified sectors, the government of the Arab republic has said a statement.
Statement came following a meeting on March 29th in Cairo between the Egyptian Prime minister Mostafa Madbouli and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.
The meeting came in the framework of strengthening economic cooperation between Egypt and Qatar.
Both countries renewed ties in January last year after several years diplomatic feud after Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain cut off ties with the tiny gas-rich country over its backing for terrorism and Muslim Brotherhood; a charge Doha has vehemently refuted.
