Some unidentified people have attacked Iran’s Consulate General in Hamburg causing fire at the gate of the mission, reports say citing German police.
The people according to the city police threw flammable materials at the iron gate of the consulate.
The police also indicated that smoke rose in the area where the consulate is located, while the fire was immediately extinguished. No one was injured in the incident.
The police however are on the lookout for two people seen fleeing the scene of the attack.
The Islamic Republic condemned the attack and called on the German authorities to take action to ensure the security of Iran’s diplomatic missions in Germany under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) notes citing Anadolu news agency.
