Tunisian Premier in isolation after contracting Covid-19

Tunisian Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi has gone into isolation after contracting, Covid-19 despite being vaccinated.
In a video posted on Saturday, Mechichi said he is not showing any symptoms of the disease as a result of the jabs he had already taken.
“Thanks to the vaccination, I have no signs of the disease, which confirms the effectiveness of the vaccine,” he said.
The Prime Minister stressed that one can fall ill even after getting covid-19 vaccine but the manifestations will be very minor. His office Friday announced he contracted the disease and will carry out his duties from distance as part of the protocols.
The wife of the Prime Minister has equally contracted the virus and has been admitted in intensive care, Tunisie Numerique reports citing head of health committee in the Tunisian parliament, Ayachi Zammel.
The North African country is among the worst affected countries by the pandemic in Africa. The health ministry posted Saturday 3,524 new contamination bringing the toll of infections to 407,017 since the report of the first case while the fatalities stand at 14,654 against 347,307 reports.
