FA Holding, a Group based in Bahrain has invested $200,000 in UAE-based and plant-based kid food startup, Sprout FZCO.
The fresh investment will be used for retail expansion of products and services, Sprout FZCO said in a statement.
Founded by biochemist Oz Erbas and marketing technologist Katerina Papatryfon proposes children’s food production with a science-based, health-first approach.
The UAE-based company also indicated that food products are exclusively made of whole plants and primarily use locally-sourced and organic ingredients.
The company is also reportedly building an artificial intelligence (AI)-technology powered end-to-end nutrition management app, which will help parents navigate child nutrition and health.
FA Holding boasts a portfolio that includes more traditional investments in logistics and real estate, and early-stage investments in start-ups, such as Calo and Spiber.
