KSA: Resumption of domestic flights from May 31

Saudi Arabia has announced resumption of domestic air traffic for May 31 as the Gulf country is set to ease gradually lockdown measures by the end of this month.

Six daily flights will resume in the first phase, state-run SPA news agency reports.

The kingdom as most countries around the world has halted local and international flights as way to curb the spread of covid-19. It also stiffened the lockdown measures including suspension of the year-round ‘umrah’ pilgrimage in the holy cities of Makkah and Medina.

The Interior Ministry will also lift bans on holding prayers in mosques, SPA said.

The Gulf country is the worst affected country in the Gulf region by the disease, having recorded 76,726 cases.
