Qatar debunks rumors of coup d’etat as fake news

Qatar’s ambassador to Russia has debunked rumors of an alleged coup d’etat in the Gulf country after video footages circulated showing gunshots in streets.

Ambassador Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah told Russian state-run news agency TASS, the footages were fake.

Earlier, several youtube accounts and several social media networks circulated video footages of shooing and screams.

One of the footages showing gun shots fired on May 3 in Qatar was also proved fake by online media I love Qatar.

The outlet claimed the footage was related to gun shots fired near a palace in Saudi Arabia on April 22, 2018.
