China’s Investment Company, CITIC, is in talks with the Iraqi government to provide funding for several projects including infrastructure, Zawya reports.
The two sides, according to Mudher Mohammed Saleh, the financial advisor to the Iraqi government, have been in advanced talks and are expected to “work on the agreement in two months”.
Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi led a high level Iraqi delegation to Beijing last week to discuss several agreements, covering a wide range of areas including infrastructure.
