Morocco’s dairy sector may see a newcomer in the upcoming days as the Saudi giant Al Marai eyes investing in the North African country.
The news was announced by Arabic news outlet Hespress, citing an informed source.
It said the Saudi group bought and equipped farms for the purpose of producing dairy products by the end of the year.
The group has 4,700 workers on its payroll and owns 135,000 cows located in seven specialized farms 150km away from Riyadh.
With 1.2 billion liters of milk annually, the company is one of the largest of its kind in the world.
