The US has exported to the UAE $20 billion in 2017 making the emirate its first export destination in the MENA region for the ninth year in a row.
The Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division at the U.S. Department of Commerce, which revealed the figures, noted that the US enjoyed a $15.7 billion trade surplus with the UAE in 2017, as the UAE only exported $4.3 billion to the US.
Total bilateral trade doubled over the past decade, from $12.1 billion in 2007 to $24.3 billion last year, the census bureau added.
The UAE trades with all 50 US states, supporting jobs across the country. US exports to the UAE supported 119,000 American Jobs, the bureau said.
