Oman to build $1bn medical city

The oil-rich sultanate of Oman is planning to build a $ 1bn medical city with help of the U.S. Apex Medical group.
The medical city, to be built on a 800,000 sq m site, will consist of a multi-specialty 530-bed hospital, a transplant & dialysis centre, a rehabilitation centre and medical & diagnostic centre.
This mega-project, which is destined for the Gulf and Middle East regions, will also include a medical and nursing college and research & development centre.
This complex will offer resident and visiting medical staff as well as the patients and their relatives the services of a healthcare resort, wellness centre, a four-star hotel, a neighborhood mall and recreational facilities.
