Kuwait’s ruler Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah appointed Wednesday new Defense and Interior ministers to replace their predecessors who resigned last month.
Emir Sheikh Nawaf charged retired General Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as first deputy prime minister and interior minister, and Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as deputy prime minister and defense minister, reports say.
The monarch during a meeting with the two appointees, reportedly affirmed the necessity of increasing efforts to preserve Kuwait’s security, wishing them further success.
The new ministers have replaced Defense Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah who officially resigned on Feb 17.
