Two workers sustained wounds Monday in Kuwait. A fire broke out at the country’s largest oil field, reports say.
The workers, state news agency KANU, reports citing a statement from Kuwait Oil Company, are in stable conditions. The agency also added that fire described as “limited fire” has not disrupted operations. Greater Burgan is Kuwait’s biggest and one of the world’s largest producing fields.
Located in in the southeastern desert of the country, the field produces over 1.6 million barrels of oil a day. The Gulf country has the world’s sixth-largest known oil reserves.
