The Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) has signed an agreement with Dubai South to allow the country’s pharmaceutical companies to establish in developing Dubai South free zone as the sector seeks to participate in the post-oil era economic development.
The agreement aims to provide a single framework for developing the procedures for issuing license and registration for pharmaceutical manufacturers in Dubai South.
It also seeks to increase the contribution of the pharmaceutical sector to the Gulf country’s efforts to diversify its economy as it targets to move beyond its dependence on oil revenues.
The agreement is part of a shared commitment between the two entities aimed at achieving government integration in line with the UAE Vision 2021, a statement by the signatory sides said.
