The Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia, Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr, highlighted Tunisia’s appeal as an investment destination, emphasizing that it is one of the key countries where foreign investors, particularly from Saudi Arabia, are eager to implement projects. This is largely due to its strategic geographical location between Africa and Europe.
In an interview with TAP, Al-Saqr pointed out that Tunisia benefits from rich natural resources and a highly skilled workforce, coupled with an educated population. He also noted that the country’s leadership has fostered positive and reassuring conditions for investment through good governance.
He emphasized the need to address challenges faced by investors to boost trade between the two nations. The results of the meetings between the Saudi Joint Committee and the Joint Business Council with Tunisian officials were described as important milestones, providing a framework to strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors.
Al-Saqr highlighted that these meetings yielded positive outcomes in areas such as scientific research, industry, environmental protection, tourism, as well as investment and culture, reflecting the growing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
Looking ahead, the ambassador mentioned that upcoming discussions between the two sides will focus on reviewing previously completed projects. He also recalled that over 300 Saudi businessmen visited Tunisia in 2023 to explore investment opportunities, address challenges, and propose solutions. Efforts to streamline investment processes will include utilizing a modern banking system and emphasizing digital transformation.
