State-run El Nasr for Export and Import (Gosoor) opened Monday six oversea branches in Ghana, Cameroon, Sudan, Emirates, France and China as part of the North African country’s efforts to boost its exports.
The branches are part of 16 total that the company operates under the Ministry of Public Enterprise.
Egypt is planning to increase exports to $100 billion in value per year. In 2021, the country’s non-oil exports reportedly reached an all-time high exceeding $32 billion, up from the $25.4 billion recorded in 2020 — an increase of 26 percent — according to the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The Ministry of Public Enterprise launched the Gosoor project in 2019 with the aim of boosting Egyptian exports.
