Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders have reiterated their unwavering support to Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire Sahara territory.
In their joint statement issued Tuesday following the 42nd Session of the GCC Supreme Council held in Riyadh, the leaders of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain renewed their strong backing to Morocco’s security and stability.
They also welcomed the latest UN Security Council resolution on Moroccan Sahara and stressed the importance of the privileged strategic partnership between the GCC and Morocco and the implementation of the joint action plan.
In their final communiqué, the GCC leaders renewed their commitment to joint defense against all threats and challenges, insisting on GCC unity, solidarity and stability.
They also tackled issues related to global warming and response to covid-19 pandemic, pledging to enhance the GCC regional and international role, by unifying political stances and building new regional and international partnerships.
