Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has pledged to invest $12 million in Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced.
In an interview with army radio early this week, Netanyahu indicated that the Emirati royal told him that he “wants to be a partner in projects which could enhance Israel’s economy after the coronavirus, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) notes.
Netanyahu made the announcement following the cancellation of his first visit to the Gulf country following several months of ties normalization between Israel and the UAE.
Netanyahu according Israeli authorities called off the visit due to reluctance to allow his jet to fly through the airspace of the kingdom.
Following the cancellation, MEMO reports, the Gulf country said it agreed to launch an investment fund worth of $10 billion in Israel.
