A 21-year-old student tragically lost his life after falling from a building at the Higher School of Science and Design Technology (ESSTeDesign) in Den Den, Manouba Governorate, Tunisia, while attempting to hang a Palestinian flag. Faris Khaled, a student at the institution, was trying on Sunday to place the flag on top of a three-storey structure in the school’s garden when he slipped and fell.
Security source reviewed surveillance footage from the campus. The footage confirmed that Khaled fell during his attempt to display the flag, TAP reported. Emergency services were promptly called to the scene, though unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the site.
The death of Khaled has since sparked an outpouring of grief within the community, with many students and staff expressing their condolences. The tragic incident also raises questions regarding safety protocols in educational institutions, especially in situations involving high-risk activities such as climbing buildings.
