Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced his country’s recognition of Morocco’s full sovereignty over its entire Sahara territory.
In a letter addressed to King Mohammed VI, Mr.Netanyahu informed the Moroccan Sovereign about the decision of the State Israel of recognizing the Moroccanness of the Sahara, said a statement released Monday by the Royal Office.
In his letter, the Israeli PM said his country’s position will be “reflected in all relevant acts and documents of the Israeli Government”, added the statement, noting that the Israeli decision will be transmitted to the United Nations, to regional and international organizations in which Israel is a member, and to all countries with which Israel has diplomatic relations.
Mr.Netanyahu also said Israel will open a consulate in the Saharan city of Dakhla as part of his country’s sovereign decision.
