Egypt and UAE have signed an agreemen in the field of building Data centers, the office of Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli has announced.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed Monday December 18 by Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and UAE’s Minister of Investment, Mohamed Hassan Al-Swedi.
Per the deal, both countries will promote investment partnership through joint projects and encouraging and facilitating investments in Data center projects in Egypt, as well as the joint assessment of the technical and investment possibilities for the development of Data center projects in Egypt where the primary phase includes 100 MW, with a future total capacity target of 1000 MW, the office also noted.
The cooperation also includes research on proposed incentives to support further investment in Data center projects. In addition, both sides will also exchange general information relevant to those projects, as well as research ways of cooperation in the field of investment and policy research, certificate development, research, development and innovation in Data center projects.
