The UAE’s holdings of the US treasury bonds rose by over 31% or $13.6 billion in May to stand at $57.3 billion compared to $43.7 billion in April 2021, Zawya reports citing official data.
With the 31 per cent increase, the annual investment in the US Treasury shot up 105.4 per cent or $29.4 billion in May 2021 from $29.7 billion in the same month in 2020, the media further notes.
With the new investments, the Arab country occupied in May the 23rd position of foreign investors in US treasury bonds.
