Qatar, Turkey eye increase in security cooperation

Qatar and Turkey pledged Wednesday to increase cooperation in mutual military training as part of intention to bolster security cooperation.
The pledge came during the meeting in Istanbul between Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulus Akar and his Qatari counterpart Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah.
Both security leaders, Daily Sabah reports, discussed bilateral and regional defense, security and cooperation in the defense industry. The two also pledged to increase cooperation in mutual military training.
The two allies enjoy strong relation in the region and the abroad especially in Libya where both backed form Libyan Government of National Accord to derail plans by rebel commander Khalifa Haftar to seize capital Tripoli during an offensive that last more than year.
Qatar and Turkey are also cooperating in Afghanistan after Taliban took control of the country.
