Fire breaks out in Kuwait’s Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery

A fire ravaged Monday through Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery in Kuwait after an explosion was heard in the area, Arab News reports, citing state-run news agency KUNA.
The fire broke out reportedly in the atmospheric residue desulphurization (ARD) unit. “The firefighting teams in the refinery are currently dealing with the fire, knowing that no injuries occurred as a result of the accident,” the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) said in a tweet. There were no casualties but the explosion caused minor injuries and cases of suffocation as a result of inhalation of fumes among workers. The company also said export operations were not affected.
