Kuwait: Employment of domestic workers suspended to avoid further contaminations

Kuwait Wednesday outlawed temporarily the employment of domestic workers as part of a set of measures to curb the spread of Coronavirus, which has infected 148 people in the Gulf country.

Major General Talal Marafi, the Interior Ministry’s assistant secretary for residency affairs, said this sector of the working force had a bigger chance of contracting the virus or helping to spread it due to the nature of their work, state-run news agency reported.

Aside from temporal ban on employment of domestic workers, authorities also outlawed different types of social gatherings including weddings and feasts.

The decisions also include restrictions on large non-family gatherings and receptions.

The police according to the agency has been tasked to ensure reinforcement of the decrees in accordance with laws connected with the prevention of disease.
