Qatar’s national carrier launches Botswana commercial line with A350-900

atar Airways Sunday launched its inaugural flight to Botswana’s capital Gaborone, the third destination by the Qatari national carrier this year in Africa.

The flight, QR 1377 took off from Doha 06:55 touched down 16:50 local time in Gaborone. The return flight, QR 1378 is scheduled 1-hour and 45-minutes after touchdown and will reaching the Qatari capital the following morning at 06:45 including a stopover in Johannesburg.

With the new route, Qatar Airways becomes the only non-African airline to serve the Southern African country.

The Botswana route increases the total destinations served by Qatar Airways to 23 in Africa. The airline started servicing this year Mogadishu in Somalia and Rabat in Morocco and announced to add Luanda (Angola) route next year.
